Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, from our family to yours! I truly hope that you are able to relax and spend time with loved ones this holiday season. Whether or not you celebrate the true meaning of Christmas (the birth of Jesus Christ), the holiday season is symbol of hope and love.

If you are in your happy place, congrats! If things are not going so well for you, or if they’re merely plugging along ho-hum, then I encourage you to reflect on why. Is there anything you can do to shake things up? Are you truly the victim, or simply dealing with the consequences of poor choices?

So are there new choices that you can make to help change course in the near future? Can you experience hope that comes with new ideas, new directions, and new beginnings? If you are dealing with a situation that you cannot change (such as a major health issue), are you able to look up and deal with the challenge head-on, and seek out any joy that exists in an otherwise painful experience?

Share the Love…

If life is good right now, can you share some of that love? Think of charitable giving or volunteering or mentoring. Many people who work full time come home and veg out in the evening. Others will use that time to start a side hustle. What instead if you used that time to make the world a better place for those less fortunate than you? Think of it as investing in your community and your family. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at your personal ROI when you invest in others.

This is also a good time of year to think about what you really want in life, in your career, in your family and social circles. Are you moving in your desirable direction, or falling backwards? Are you surrounding yourself with positive people who will challenge and encourage and support you? Start putting the pieces in place today so that you have options available to you tomorrow. Go ahead and make that Deliberate Change.
